The Garden City Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors is pleased to announce the recent hire of Aimee Kennedy as Tourism & Marketing Director for Visit Garden City Georgia. Kennedy will be responsible for executing the marketing plan of the Garden City CVB. She will also facilitate an active relationship with hotels/motels, restaurants, retail and attractions in the Chatham County and Garden City area to stimulate economic development and promote tourism.

“Garden City has so much to offer to both local residents and visitors alike,” Kennedy said. “In addition to being home to the fourth busiest container port in the United States, the city boasts many wonderful restaurants, local businesses and affordable accommodations. The opportunity to contribute to this growing community’s successes in addition to the prospect of working with such a talented group of board members was incredibly inviting. I want to shine light on the beauty, diversity, and culture of this flourishing city!”

One of her goals is to team with local business owners to bring awareness of the blossoming city to surrounding communities. Kennedy is also working to bring more engaging and enjoyable events to the region. One such event is the second annual Southern Roots Festival.

“I am excited to work with Visit Garden City, and the incredibly talented team at My Agency Savannah to make this music festival a huge success,” Kennedy said.

She has extensive work experience in marketing and graphic design. She has been in the industry for more than 20 years, covering everything from newspapers and magazines to trade shows and more. Most recently, Kennedy worked with NIIT Technologies leading and managing a team in the production of advertising initiatives and client support, as well as focusing on key sections of operations such as training and development, marketing strategies and customer communication.
