Don’t have a garden? Not to worry! Here is a guide to help make your not-so garden party epic.
Garden Party Pros:
First of all, always have backup plan! When hosting an outdoor event, weather can be an issue. Depending on your budget, maybe rent a tent. Keep the guest list small and intimate. Pick a theme. Whether you want vintage, rustic, elegant or modern, make the space magical. Decorations can make or break a party. Pick a seating arrangement that fits your aesthetic. This could mean a table and chairs or picnic style on the ground. Make it kid friendly or adults only! Invitations can go out in the mail, via text or even an e-vite. Anything works nowadays. Don’t worry about a photographer because your friends aren’t going to want to stop taking pictures, but a photo booth is always a cute addition. Don’t stress and enjoy yourself…it is a party after all!
Garden Party Must Haves:
~ A garden party does not necessarily have to have flowers, but flowers as centerpieces or bright, and full flower beds could pull everything together.
~ Lights, lights, and more lights. String lights or lanterns are
a staple for a late evening garden party. It makes the space more intimate and perfect for pictures!
~ Garden parties are all about light and fun conversations with great food and great people. But don’t forget about the music! Even if it is just background music, it is a MUST. You need a playlist to liven up the party.
~ In the summer, especially in the south, be prepared for bugs. Light tiki torches; these are such a great idea for lighting up the backyard and to keep those annoying critters away.
Delicious Desserts and Fabulous Food:
~ Make a signature cocktail that fits your theme. Your guests will love it! Of course, you can have other drink options like beer and wine, but if you have a signature cocktail, you can even make the party BYOB…
~ Finger foods are always easy and fun to have at an outside gathering. Have a fun meal planned to try and go along with your theme.
~ Make your party sweeter: have a dessert bar!
